Broun to Travel to Charlie Norwood VA Hospital for Oversight Visit
Congressman Paul Broun, M.D. (GA-10) released the following statement on the Congressional Oversight visit to be conducted at the Charlie Norwood VAMC by the House Committee on Veterans Affairs. Broun will join Committee Chairman, Rep. Jeff Miller (FL-01), as well as Rep. John Barrow (GA-12), Rep. Doug Collins (GA-9), Rep. Phil Gingrey (GA-11 ), Rep. Mick Mulvaney (SC-05) and Joe Wilson (SC-02) for this oversight visit which is scheduled to begin at 1:30 PM on Monday, January 6th.
“We must identify what went wrong and waste no time in remedying the situation so that we may thwart tragedies like this in the future. As a nation, it is essential that we be diligent in providing the best possible care for the men and women who have served this country, and it is unacceptable for this issue to continue to be overlooked,” said Broun. “As a medical doctor, I do not take reports of delay in care lightly. During this visit, the circumstances of these deaths will be put under the microscope, and I intend to be scrupulous in identifying the cause.”
