Broun Fights to Defund Obamacare
Broun invited to speak at “Exempt America from Obamacare” rally
U.S. Congressman Paul Broun, M.D. (GA-10) today announced his invitation to speak at the “Exempt America from Obamacare” rally, organized by the Tea Party Patriots. Congressman Broun will stand alongside Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX), Mike Lee (R-UT), and Rand Paul (R-KY) and demand that Congress refuse to spend money to fund Obamacare. The rally will take place on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, and will act as a final push in the fight to stop Obamacare before implementation. Furthermore, in his efforts to defund Obamacare, Congressman Broun signed onto a letter with 79 Members of Congress, urging House leadership to defund the implementation and enforcement of Obamacare in any relevant appropriations bill, including any continuing resolution.
"The implementation of Obamacare is just around the corner, with key features, such as enrollment in the exchanges, set to go into effect October 1st,” said Rep. Broun. “This is our last chance to stop this disastrous law, not through another piece of legislation after Obamacare has already been implemented, and I am fighting with every fiber to save America from the trainwreck that is Obamacare. I’ve joined my colleagues in the House of Representatives, urging House leadership to defund Obmacare in any spending bill, and I’m standing with Senators Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, and Rand Paul at next month’s rally to promote the defunding of this law. I will continue to fight every day to rip Obamacare out by the roots and replace it with true, patient-centered reforms, such as my Patient OPTION Act. Americans need and deserve better than Obamacare, and I will not stop fighting until we repeal this terrible law once and for all.”
The “Exempt America from Obamacare” rally will take place on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol from 12 pm – 2 pm, where Dr. Broun has been invited to speak for 90 seconds. For more information on the event, click here.
